Bug ID: 511855
Summary: In the Applications page, show "show details sidebar"
button rather than "configure columns"
Classification: Applications

SUMMARY
In the Applications page, currently two buttons appear: "quit application" and
"configure columns". To access further functionality, one has to click on the
three-dot menu, which offers "show details sidebar" and "edit page". The
current setup, however, is not a good default: a user is expected to change
the columns quite rarely (if ever!), whereas it is reasonable to assume that
they will want to show or hide the "details" pane a lot more frequently. It
would therefore be ideal to swap the two buttons, if anything for consistency:
at the moment we have a button that performs an action related to the
applications and one that changes how System Monitor behaves in both the
toolbar and the menu; lumping them together (both buttons that perform actions
related to the applications in the toolbar and both buttons related to System
Monitor in the menu) would make more logical sense.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open System Monitor
2. Open the Applications page
OBSERVED RESULT
System Monitor's buttons are not arranged according to frequency of use, so
that a frequently-used button is hidden and a rarely-used one is shown.
EXPECTED RESULT
System Monitor's buttons are arranged in a way that makes the most-used ones
visible and puts the less-used ones in the menu.
