Note: the version of kontact on my system doesn't seem to match the list of
versions in the version field. This is what I find in the rpm package info:

SUMMARY
I have just upgraded to Fedora 43. In previous editions I have not been able to
use plasma on wayland. A few core applications failed to work. So with Fedora
43 installed I'm re-evaluating.
This bug is about a failed attempt to use the kontact application. If I try to
start it, it won't crash, but won't display a window either, only a task on the
taskbar suggests it's running.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a terminal
2. Execute 'kontact'
OBSERVED RESULT
There is a taks on the task bar named "Kontact", but no window appears. The
terminal in which I ran the "kontact" command has the following output:

While I leave kontact running in this state, I'm not able to launch other
applications. They will all end up with just a task in the taskbar and no
windows will appear. When I kill the kontact command in the terminal, other
applications will start normally again. I have tried with digikam specifically.
EXPECTED RESULT
Kontact should just run normally.
