            Bug ID: 512674
Summary: Searching by images/similarity will not show results
if the similar image is within a closed group
    Classification: Applications
           Product: digikam
      Version First 8.8.0
       Reported In:
          Platform: Gentoo Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Searches-Similarity
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Search by similarity (image in this case) will return nothing, not even a
"nothing found" message, if the image being searched for is grouped, and that
group hasn't been opened.

This means if I had no idea which album the image was in, I would not be able
to reasonably do my fuzzy search at all.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have a bunch of images
2. Group them
3. Try to find similar image within the grouped images (finding something other
than the 1st one)
4. See "observed result"

OBSERVED RESULT
Nothing shows up as the results. No "nothing found" message. Absolutely no
feedback.

This changes if the grouped images is expanded ("show grouped images") in Album
view. In that case, the matching image is visible. This however requires
knowing which album the image is located in, too.

EXPECTED RESULT
The fuzzy search should show the matching image, or at least the grouped images
the matching image is located in.
