I very much agree with what Ahmed said: I also think this should be possible by
default. Please make this plugin enabled by default.

A tooltip that explains how to open the hyperlink is displayed when one clicks
once into the link and hovers over it. However, it's not displayed when just
hovering over it for a while without having clicked on it. Since it's not
self-explanatory and there is no info provided how to open the link, I think it
would be better to display the tooltip when one hovers for a while (if possible
not just when hovering briefly) over the weblink.

I think if this gets enabled by default, there should be a setting for whether
or not the hyperlinks are underlined and that the default config should be that
they aren't so that text documents look just like before with the only
difference being that you can now open hyperlinks (and the tooltip that
explains how - I actually learned how only by coming back to this issue and
reading the comment).

I suggest a new issue is created for making this plugin enabled by default and
then linked here or that this issue is reopened until it's enabled by default.

The problem for me with using the plugin (as a workaround to this not being
possible by default) was that it didn't work without specifying a default
browser (that's fine but it should show a message box like "No default browser
configured, please configure one" or "Select which application to open clicked
links in") and not after specifying my sandboxed firefox browser there (this
command: firejail /usr/lib/firefox-esr/firefox-esr). When I ctrl+clicked links,
it only opened KMenuEditor. I tried restarting Kate but that didn't help. What
did fix this was changing the default browser (System Settings -> Default
Applications) to Konqueror, then trying to open a link (which I think already
opened it in the firejailed firefox) and then changing the default browser back
to firejail /usr/lib/firefox-esr/firefox-esr. Now I can open hyperlinks in the
sandboxed Firefox, thanks!
