Bug ID: 513134
Summary: Panel Widgets Not Visible After Opening Several Times
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.5.3
Reported In:
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Panel
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
SUMMARY
After interacting with the panel an indeterminate number of times, widgets stop
opening properly.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start with empty desktop
2. Repeatedly interact with any panel widget (around 5-20 times)
OBSERVED RESULT
After a seemingly random number of interactions, the panels will stop showing a
window or taking focus. A line appears where the widget should be open, but no
widget window opens. Restarting plasmashell temporarily fixes the issue, but
the issue reoccurs after a while.
No error is logged to the journal.
EXPECTED RESULT
Clicking on a panel widget opens the appropriate widget window.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Aurora 43 (Based on Fedora Kinoite)
KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.20.0
Qt Version: 6.10.1
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I recorded the video on an AMD laptop with AMD graphics, but I am experiencing
this exact same issue on an NVIDIA graphics system as well.
I have upgraded both of these systems through quite a few Plasma versions, so
it is possible this is being caused by something leftover/cached. I have tried
removing the ~/.cache directory, but this had no effect.
