Bug ID: 513194
Summary: Total Freeze after using tiling keyboard shortcut on
multiple Okular windows.
Classification: Plasma
Product: kwin
Version First 6.5.2
Reported In:
Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: crash
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
I opened two pdfs in Okular. I then clicked on the taskbar-icon for okular,
which showed me the preview of the two files. Next, I pushed
'meta'+'right-arrow' to tile the window to the right.
While it's to be expected that this is not trivial in this moment where I
focused on the preview of two windows instead of focusing on one specific
window, the result was very bad: the process of tiling somewhat started for
both windows, starting to blurrily and slowly move to the right. However, at
some point they froze and the whole system did so. No keyboard input or
mouseclick changed anything. The only thing I managed to do is shut off the
laptop by long-pressing the power button.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. open two pdf files in okular
2. click on the icon in the taskbar
3. press 'meta' + 'arrow' to arrange the window.
OBSERVED RESULT
see above description. Sorry, I'm a bit in a rush ...
EXPECTED RESULT
tiling both windows at once or at least not crash.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: TuxedoOS
KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.19.0
Qt Version: 6.9.2
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I did not yet try to reproduce and am now just gonna send this report before
trying again because I right now don't have the time to file the bug again if
the system crashes. I hope to be able to comment on my reproduction-trials
later on ...
