instead of zooming the video.

Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
I think it would be better to have the standard size changing controls (CTRL
with +|-|0) for subtitles instead of zooming the video.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start playing a video that has subtitles.
2. Press CTRL + one of these characters (=-0) to make them bigger, smaller or
reset them to their default size.
OBSERVED RESULT
The standard shortcuts to make things bigger inDolphin + Kate + web browsers
don't work here.
At least not as expected.
CTRL + + is not even working at all and it took me a while to figure out why,
which I guess it's because there is nothing else to zoom in on a 4K movie
stretched to all the edges of the program both when windowed and in full
screen, so this shortcut is not used at all. At least I guess this is the
problem.
CTRL + - is working but I find it totally useless as I never needed such a
thing and I still can't even image why would I or anyone else need such a
thing.
You can make the player windowed and resize its window, if you really need
that.
Plus, pressing CTRL + + doesn't reverses it's effect. The only way to get out
of it it's to press CTRL + 0.
So you can only make the video smaller, but not bigger or the same it was in
the beginning without resetting.
Strange that nobody reported this already.
EXPECTED RESULT
I expected / hoped that there will be some consistency with the other KDE
programs, like Kate and Dolphin, which in turn are consistent with what the web
browsers have chosen and nothing new is required to learn and remember, just
for this case.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma:
KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.20.0
Qt Version: 6.9.2
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Long story short, I think the best (most intuitive) shortcuts would be to use:
CTRL + + for increasing the subtitles size
CTRL + - for decreasing the subtitles size
CTRL + 0 for resetting the subtitles size
As for zooming in / out and resetting the video itself I would use one of
these:
SHIFT + (+|-|0)
CTRL + (arrow up | arrow down), but I don't know what would be good to reset
the video zoom, maybe CTRL+ SHIFT, since the keys are close, if that can be
detected.
All can be pressed with just one hand, which is good in my opinion in general,
but also because the other hand might be busy with some food or drinks, which
is probably common enough with movie watching.
I don't expect this to really be considered and changed / fixed / improved as
none of the bug reports for this program had any success, but before abandoning
it completely I said to still leave behind some feedback with what I think its
not as good as it could be and is also not consistent with what people used to
KDE software have learned already.
Also for elderly people is hard enough to teach them that they can use the CTRL
+ = or - when they need things to be bigger or smaller, having to teach them
something unique to a single program is even worse and very close to
impossible.
