We should probably improve the fallback handling in case the preferred backend fails to deliver results. It's unexpected that this is dependent on searches beyond Dec 14 though (that's when DB switches to their winter schedule). So it might be that we actually queried another source as well which didn't have the new schedule data yet (rare, but technically possible). If you ever see this again, one way to gather information about what exactly happens there is to store a working result and export that.
