            Bug ID: 513369
Summary: Support for derived linux distributions in
                    initial_setup.sh script for kde-builder
    Classification: Developer tools
           Product: buildsystem
      Version First unspecified
       Reported In:
          Platform: Debian stable
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: minor
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
While attempting to install kde-builder on a Debian-derived distribution (Kali
Linux) using the initial_setup.sh script, I encountered the following warning:

Warning: Unsupported OS: kali, skipping installation of runtime packages.

Kali Linux is Debian-based and, in practice, closely aligned with Debian. I was
able to complete the installation by modifying the script to treat kali the
same as debian.

Would it be appropriate to update the script to allow certain Debian-derived
distributions, such as Kali Linux? Otherwise, users may be required to switch
operating systems in order to develop or test KDE applications, despite using a
compatible Debian-based environment.
