K3B CD rip window, with home folder path, album name, and song names censored.
Notably, the elapsed time is missing.
SUMMARY
When the time taken to rip a CD (time elapsed) exceeds ~24h, the time elapsed
disappears from the K3B GUI.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Insert a CD that you know will take longer than 24 hours for K3B to rip into
the optical drive, and have K3B rip it.
2. Wait 24 hours.
3. Observe that, while the CD is ripping, the "Elapsed time" part of the GUI no
longer has a time listed.
OBSERVED RESULT
The elapsed time for a rip is missing.
EXPECTED RESULT
The elapsed time for a rip should continue after 24 hours, for those of us with
CDs that demand 24hr+ rip times.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: CachyOS
KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.4 (Wayland)
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.21.0
Qt Version: 6.10.1
Kernel Version: 6.18.2-2-cachyos (64-bit)
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This, for me, is only reproducible with one specific CD produced by Geek
Records. Other CDs I own do not take nearly this long, even other CDs with
whatever wacky issue makes the GR CDs take an eternity to rip. Sure, the other
CDs have taken 8hrs+ to rip at times, but never long enough for me to encounter
software bugs because of it! The long rip time is not exclusive to K3B and thus
I'm not sure if that's a bug in and of itself.
