            Bug ID: 514361
           Summary: Stopp writing unnecessary
                    ApplicationStartCount/ApplicationTime
    Classification: I don't know
           Product: kde
      Version First unspecified
       Reported In:
          Platform: Debian stable
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

When I launch & close following software:
- Dolphin
- System Settings
your software writes a file to /home/(username)/.config/kde.org/ every time I
close the software:

[UserFeedback]
ApplicationStartCount=35
ApplicationTime=2695197

Can you stop this? Why do you need to write this every single time? I alraedy
disabled telemetry(feedback) and I expect your software NOT to write anything
except my settings.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Launch "Dolphin" and "System Settings"
2. Close both
3. Compare /home/(username)/.config/kde.org/UserFeedback.org.kde.*.conf files
4. Repeat 1-3 to observe changes

OBSERVED RESULT
The [UserFeedback] counter was increased, and the changes actually written to
the disk unnecessarily, resulting in reduce HDD/SSD lifespan.

EXPECTED RESULT
Don't write anything by default, especially the user opt-out the telemetry.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma
