Same issue here. I was able to work around it by switching the brightness keys
to a custom command and using brightnessctl with the -d flag to target the
right backlight directly. KDE prioritises the firmware backlight
"nvidia_wmi_ec_backlight" over the one it should target ("amdgpu_bl1"), which
is advertised as "raw" (/sys/class/backlight/amdgpu_bl1/type). As far as I can
tell there is no way to override this selection. Personally I would be happy
with even just a config option to override the default selection for a specific
backlight.
