This is a QoL feature request that also improves discoverability for newer
users.
In the Dolphin FIle Browser, right clicking then "Open With..." opens a window
that allows you to set the default application for a mime type. However, this
is quite inconvenient when the mime type is either
incorrect/underspecified/missing for custom file extensions (often packages for
specific applications that are just a zip file with a custom filename
extension).
Custom mimetypes can be configured in "File Associations - System Settings",
but that's not as easily discoverable for newer users, and even for existing
users it's annoying to go through "open with..." only to later realize the
current file association is not what you want/expect. Causing you to have to
*close out / backtrack* rather than *progress towards* the solution from a menu
that promised to do just that.
I can see 2 solutions to this:
1. In "Choose Application", link to "File Associations - System Settings", and
let the user handle it from there.
2. Add a quick actions for creating/updating/adding to mimetypes directly in
"Choose Application"
