Note that in the feature planning document that Natalie and I wrote up last
year, diagonal swipes are also mentioned:

Also note that this is not endorsed by KWin maintainers as of right now.
Something that is, however, endorsed by a KWin maintainer, is free-form 2D
gestures. I think diagonal movement on a workspace grid would likely be
implemented that way as opposed to a separate action for each (straight and
