This bug report is the way to communicate with them. I know bugs are frustrating, particularly this one, but you'll need to be patient. Most people working on KDE software are volunteers. This is just waiting for someone with the knowledge to have the time to investigate. I've not seen any other bugs like this, and it looks like either a system database didn't load or there's maybe a misconfiguration.
