--- Comment #76 from Erin of Yukis <[email protected]> --- I’m saying that fixing appmenu-gtk-module is not going to fix the issue mentioned here, which is to say: Out-of-the box support for GTK3/4 applications using GMenuModel. I’m also pointing out that this isn’t going to work for GTK4 at all, since GTK4 removed support for loading GtkModules entirely. (Unless appmenu-gtk-module manages to switch to $LD_PRELOAD hackery instead, like gtk-nocsd did.) That doesn’t mean it isn’t worthwhile to attempt and fix appmenu-gtk-module: It can be a stopgap solution until this is finally addressed on the KWin+GTK interop side. It is also the only solution for GTK3 applications *not* directly using GtkMenuBar, rather than GMenuModel – those are the ones that also have no global menu when running udner XWayland/X11. So I’m not saying you shouldn’t persue this, I’m just pointing out that it’s solving a different issue in a way that happens to also be a workaround for this issue for users willing to install appmenu-gtk-module manually. So still worthwhile, just a different thing. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
