I personally preferred the pre-5.27 behavior. So for Nate Graham's comment 2024-12-12 20:17:06 UTC, I'd take option 3, with the caveat that while un-tiling the window, it remains with (except the side being resized) *exactly* the same position and size as when it was tiled.
