Bug ID: 515723
Summary: When switching projects without open files, find in
files shortcut doesn't work
Classification: Applications
Product: kate
Version First 25.12.1
Reported In:
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general

Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
When opening Kate I have several projects in the dropdown, but no open files.
When I switch to a different project, and then hit ctrl-shift-F to do a find in
all files, the search box never gets activated - it seems like it doesn't
register the shortcut.
Using the menu item does work.
Once you have an file open in a project, it works fine.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have kate project plugin active, with multiple projects
2. Close all files, close Kate
3. Start Kate, it will default to selecting the first project in the dropdown,
and the focus will be on an Untitled file. Search works.
4. Click the project dropdown, switch to another project. Focus remains on the
project, and the shortcut to do the find doesn't work
OBSERVED RESULT
Search shortcut doesn't work.
EXPECTED RESULT
Search shortcut should just work
