A screenshot or a screen recording would help. If your timeline is very busy and clips are short and many, use the zoom function (Ctrl+mouse-wheel, or dragging the white handles of the scroll bar, or clicking on the zoom icons or using the slider in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen) to zoom in on the area you need to work on.
