Codex + GPT-5.2 managed to restore functioning without restarting GUI apps by running qdbus org.freedesktop.ScreenSaver /ScreenSaver org.freedesktop.ScreenSaver.SimulateUserActivity Relevant journal excerpt: Feb 14 08:15:41 ... kwin_wayland_wrapper[...] warning: queue "mesa egl surface queue" ... destroyed while proxies still attached: Feb 14 08:15:41 ... kwin_wayland_wrapper[...] wp_presentation#40 still attached Feb 14 08:15:41 ... kscreenlocker_greet[2003106]: Could not create EGL surface (EGL error 0x3000) Feb 14 08:15:41 ... kscreenlocker_greet[2003106]: Could not create EGL surface (EGL error 0x3000) Feb 14 08:15:41 ... kscreenlocker_greet[2003106]: Failed to write to the pipe: Bad file descriptor. I have a user service reacting to ScreenSaver ActiveChanged synchronously that starts/stops background recording services and restarts input-remapper. That takes some time (up to 20 seconds), so maybe it holds DBus for too long? Even so, KWin/kscreenlocker should handle transient client/EGL failures without leaving input blocked; the recovery above suggests an internal stuck state. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
