Bug ID: 516008
Summary: Wallpaper Slideshow: Changing "Dynamic Mode" setting
does not enable the "Apply" button & setting is not
saved
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.5.5
Reported In:
Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Image & Slideshow wallpaper plugins
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected], [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
SUMMARY
When configuring the Wallpaper type "Slideshow" (in KDE Plasma on Manjaro),
changing the "Dynamic Mode" (or "Sort Mode") dropdown setting does not trigger
the "Apply" button activation. Furthermore, even if the "Apply" button is
forced to activate by changing another setting (like background color), the
"Dynamic Mode" change is NOT saved and reverts to default after closing
settings.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Right-click on Desktop -> "Configure Desktop and Wallpaper".
2. Set Wallpaper Type to "Slideshow".
3. Add a folder containing wallpapers (or rely on default).
4. Try to change the "Dynamic Mode" dropdown setting (e.g., from default to
"Time of Day").
5. Observe that the "Apply" button remains inactive (grayed out).
6. Change another setting (e.g., Background Color) to force the "Apply" button
to become active.
7. Click "Apply" and close the window.
8. Reopen the configuration window.
OBSERVED RESULT
The "Dynamic Mode" setting has reverted to its previous state. The change was
not written to the config file.
EXPECTED RESULT
The "Apply" button should activate immediately upon changing the dropdown.
Clicking "Apply" should persistently save the selected Dynamic Mode.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Manjaro Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.22.0
Qt Version: 6.10.1
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This issue prevents users from forcing "Time of Day" mode for dynamic
wallpapers inside a slideshow when using a dark system theme during the day.
