When I select the video, it opens and plays in the still-hidden Survey view. Then, when I open the video in the main view, the audio is duplicated. @Gilles, we're should not automatically load and start images and videos in the Survey view. This can't be the cause in digiKam-8.8.0, of course. Which audio output have you selected? Please click on the speaker icon in the video player's status bar. Perhaps try switching it?
