I've gone back and narrowed down what is possibly causing this issue. It only
happens on my systems with the KMyMoney program and no other programs. I have
also tried it on two different computers with the latest stable version of
KMyMoney 5.1-3218. The issues seem to have started around version 5.1.3 and
continues with each version published. To test my assumptions, I used two
different computers loaded with clean new installs of Windows 11 and Windows 11
Pro. I then installed all current Windows updates. The problem was duplicated
on both system exactly.

What seems to cause the issue is, if you store the KMyMoney working file on any
other drive than the one the KMyMoney program is on, you will get the debug
file created on your desktop every time you save and close the program. I have
verified this will happen every time the file is stored on another drive other
than the C: install drive. I double checked the results by creating a file on a
clean data storage drive in the same computer (D:) and formatted with no files
on the drive except the KMyMoney working file. I then copied the same working
file to the my documents folder on the on the drive the program was loaded on.
Each time I opened the file on the D: drive, I got a new entry on the debug
file on the desktop. If I deleted the file it came back every time I saved it
again. If I opened the on the same drive as the program C:, no debug file was
generated.

As most people store their files on a different drive than the main operating
system drive to prevent O/S issues from messing with saved data, The program
needs to understand that the data will not always be stored on the program
install drive. Hope this helps narrow down the issue and is an easy code fix. I
submitted this issue over a year ago but see nothing has been done with it or
even if this report was looked at.
