Blazer Silving <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |[email protected] --- Comment #3 from Blazer Silving <[email protected]> --- Hello, thank you for detailing this regression to the Overview, and yes it absolutely is a usability regression. To note, another ticket is open regarding Overview spacing/margins (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=490914), but yours is much more effective in communicating and illustrating what has regressed. For full context, this is due to the new effects layout algorithm in 6.1, where "efficient" screen-packing replaced the former choice of options. I detailed the regressions of placement and size shortly after release, but unfortunately not many others have chimed in: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=488828. I preferred the Natural Layout, and restored it myself not long after the code was removed, and by your screenshots you preferred the "Closest" layout. The hardcoded margin/gap values at https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/commit/c3cda8b62ad3825883826bdd1928c8761aeb026d#5f93aa68d965a2180a29845faa33cb1965bf15b5_73_177 should control this spacing in the new layout, if you want to experiment. The former "Closest" layout could be regained here by simply removing the excess padding. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
