This is not a bug. This is a new feature request. This is for the module
"kcm_about-distro"
I have opened a new request for KinfoCenter application, Bug ID = 516209
(https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=516209). I am not sure that KDE "System
Settings" application uses KInfoCenter internally inside the module
kcm_about-distro . If "System Settings" application uses KInfoCenter then
please close this request. If not then please do handle it.
SUMMARY
Currently in the "About this system" section of "System Settings" application
the Display manager being used is not shown. The items that are shown are KDE
Plasma Version, KDE Frameworks Version, QT Version, Kernel Version and Graphics
Platform. Along with this the Display manager that is being used, i.e. either
SDDM or Plasma Login Manager or LightDM or KDM or something else should be
shown.
The tool "inxi" does show the display manager being used via the command "inxi
-Sxx".
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go to the KDE Launcher > System Settings > About this System.
Or by use the command "/usr/bin/systemsettings kcm_about-distro" in a
terminal/shell.
2. On the right hand side you will see two primary sections, Software and
Hardware.
3. Look for information regarding the Display manager being used
OBSERVED RESULT
The Display manager being used is not listed.
EXPECTED RESULT
Below the Graphics Platform key there should be a key that says "Display
Manager" and the value of this key should be the Name of the Display manager
and its version. For example in case of SDDM it should show "SDDM ver 0.21.06".
In case of LightDM display manager the value should be "LightDM ver 1.32.06".
If you want to omit the version of put in as part of a different key that also
works.
