Kdenlive supports formats supported by ffmpeg. If ffmpeg doesn't support it, Kdenlive can't use it because Kdenlive uses ffmpeg for decoding and encoding. Apparently, ffmpeg doesn't support DNG directly. You need a third-party tool like Fast CinemaDNG Processor to convert DNG files into something ffmpeg (and Kdenlive) can handle.
