Bug ID: 516364
Summary: Tapping with a trackpad on the video's progress bar as
it's playing pauses the video
Classification: Applications
Product: Haruna
Version First 1.4.0
Reported In:
Platform: Kubuntu
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: minor
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
Some trackpad drivers (such as the T2 Linux's BCE drivers) allow the user to
click by tapping the trackpad without pressing it down, which causes the mouse
button to be pressed and released instantly.
When tapping on the video progress bar while it's playing, Haruna jumps to the
expected point but will pause the video. When pressing the trackpad down fully
to trigger a non-instant click, Haruna jumps to the expected point but does not
pause playback.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use a trackpad that supports clicking via tapping the trackpad, I assume you
could also replicate this bug with a script that simulates an instant click.
2. Start playing a video in Haruna.
3. Tap (or execute an instant click) on a random point in the video's progress
bar.
OBSERVED RESULT
The video jumps to the expected spot, but pauses playback.
EXPECTED RESULT
The video should jump to the expected spot, but continue playback.
Note that when the video is paused prior to clicking, playback is expected to
remain paused.
