            Bug ID: 516512
Summary: Add option to disable shadows only for snapped/tiled
                    windows while keeping titlebar
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: kwin
      Version First unspecified
       Reported In:
          Platform: Manjaro
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Feature request: disable shadows only for snapped/tiled windows while keeping
titlebars

  STEPS TO REPRODUCE

  1. Open two normal app windows (with titlebars) in KDE Plasma/KWin.
  2. Snap them side-by-side (quick tile left/right or tiled layout).
  3. Observe the seam/overlap area where shadows are still rendered.

  OBSERVED RESULT
Shadows remain on snapped/tiled windows. This adds visual clutter/gap between
adjacent tiled windows.

  EXPECTED RESULT
An option (global setting and/or window rule) to disable shadows only when a
window is snapped/tiled, while preserving titlebar and
  normal decorations.

  SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
  Linux/KDE Plasma: Manjaro Linux
  KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.5
KDE Frameworks Version: (fill from Info Center / kinfo)
  Qt Version: 6.10.1

  ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  - This is a usability/visual-cleanliness request for split-screen workflows.
  - Current workaround options are not ideal:
      - Removing decorations removes titlebar too (not desired).
      - KWin scripting/effects do not expose a straightforward per-window
shadow toggle for tiled state.
  - Desired behavior:
      - Keep current shadows for floating windows.
      - Dynamically disable shadows while window is snapped/tiled.
      - Re-enable shadows when window returns to floating state.
