--- Comment #27 from Joe Robinson <[email protected]> ---
I'm experiencing similar issues to this.

Started out with the same error in the initial post, "Audio device has invalid
preferred format" when recording audio, with nothing recorded/recording not
initialised at all. This was with 25.12.2, but installed from the Arch package
manager, so perhaps I can put that down to some dependency/library/system
issue.

I tried with the AppImage, and then get similar problems as described later in
the post. Recording appears to be going correctly while in progress, but once
it completes, it becomes an extremely short <1s clip, and I can just about make
out half of a word that I recorded. This was with a Blue Yeti Nano Microphone
on USB. I also tried with a HyperX Cloud 3 wireless headset, also on USB, and
with this it records a clip which is closer to normal, but is still being
squashed somewhat, a 10 second recording becomes about 7 seconds, with some
noticeable jumping during the clip.

I've tried the nightly build from the latest post and fiddled with some of the
different audio settings, but I've not noticed any different behaviour on any
of the various options.
