As requested, there should be the .kra file (File_SelectionMask_bug.kra) attached as well as the video(ReplicatedBug_SelectionMask.mp4) replicating the issue, although it occurs regardless of the file used; i even replicated this on one of my older drawings in addition, i've also discovered a solution to this, where one creates a new layer above the old layer, and converting the new one, as seen in another video (Workaround_Selection.mp4).
