--- Comment #3 from Aleksandar <[email protected]> --- Created attachment 190291 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=190291&action=edit Bug reproduction I have narrowed the trigger down significantly and attached a video demonstrating the exact behavior. The issue is NOT caused by specific rule parameters (like out-of-bounds screens or extreme X/Y coordinates). It is triggered by the KWin rules reload/reconfigure signal itself on my specific hardware setup. New, simplified steps to reproduce: 1. Completely delete/clear ~/.config/kwinrulesrc so there are zero rules. 2. Reboot or log out/in to ensure a completely clean Wayland session. 3. Open System Settings -> Window Management -> Window Rules. 4. Click "Add New" (leave the rule entirely blank/empty). 5. Click "Apply". Result: The instant "Apply" is clicked, the artifact appears. It is a headless Breeze window decoration stretched across the entire combined width of all my monitors, with a window control button (caret) rendered on the far right edge of the rightmost monitor. All that seemed to have happened after adding the first initial screen 4 rule (but it is most probably tied to an upgrade of something, not the actual rule that i added. I was recording my screen, so i happened to see exactly when the artifact appeared, but I now think its more about some bug in related packages, not strictly related to a specific rule on a specific set, although monitors count probably still matters?) I'm using nvidia RTX 4070. (not sure if it matters) I tried restarting plasmashell, but it didn't help. What helped though, is changing resolution of any screen, and instantly reverting. Then, artifact was essentially gone, and subsequent presses of the "apply" button for any setting on any window didn't cause it to appear again, until the next system reboot.
