Bug ID: 517207
Summary: Using "nodialog" option does not work.
Classification: Applications
Product: krfb
Version First 25.04.2
Reported In:
Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
I used Autostart in KDE to start krfb. No matter what, krfb would always open a
window (and, even after I saved an attended access password, would
auto-generate a password to replace it!). I added "--nodialog" (tested it with
one and 2 dashes, since there's no documentation for krfb) to the Autostart
configuration for krfb. I rebooted and ONE time it started without the krfb
dialog coming up. Then it did, every time. I got curious and changed the
command line option config to "--nodialog --nodialog" just to see if it made a
difference. It did - for one reboot.
I've done "ps aux|grep krfb" and find I get:
"hal 1308 0.0 1.8 980808 151856 ? Ssl 13:46 0:00
/usr/bin/krfb --nodialog"
That shows me krfb is starting with the proper command line, but the dialog
window STILL opens up when KDE starts up. I have made sure to close the window
by clicking the X to close it, then rebooted and the window still comes up.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Setup Autostart as described above
2. Reboot. If it works and the dialog doesn't show up, do it again.
3. Continue to reboot - I'm not clear why it works once and not after that.
OBSERVED RESULT
krfb dialog always opens, forcing me to use the attended access password for
remote access. (And, as noted, krfb continually overwrites my given pw for that
with a random one.)
EXPECTED RESULT
The krfb dialog should not open.
