Bug ID: 517568
Summary: Extracting files from 7zip archives results in
corrupted files
Classification: Applications
Product: dolphin
Version First 25.12.2
Reported In:
Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
When the option "Browse Compressed Files as Folders" is enabled, files
extracted from 7zip archives are corrupted.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. create a 7zip archive (e.g. using: 7z a ls.7z /usr/bin/ls)
2. enable "Browse Compressed Files as Folders" in Dolphin
3. Open the 7zip archive in Dolphin by double clicking on it (so that the
stored file is listed)
4. extract the file from the archive (e.g. by drag and drop to a different
directory)
OBSERVED RESULT
The extracted file is not the one stored in the archive. This can be verified
by comparing the check sums. If it's an executable file, running it, will lead
to a core dump
EXPECTED RESULT
A file that is identical to the original one
