Bug ID: 517605
Summary: KIO constantly activates automounted mount points when
opening Dolphin
Classification: Frameworks and Libraries
Product: frameworks-kio
Version First 6.23.0
Reported In:
Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Places
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected], [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
KIO seems to now constantly trigger automounted mount points for no discernible
reason (the folder hasn't been navigated to in any way shape or form). This can
cause long delays when opening applications such as Dolphin since any automount
points that belong to a Places bookmark (or even ones that have been navigated
to sometime in the past?) will get triggered and have to mount before the
window actually opens.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a systemd style automount with an expiration timer (could be for SMB,
could be something more exotic like a restic backup repo, doesn't seem to
matter)
2. Navigate to this mount point at least, close Dolphin and wait for the
automount to unmount itself
3. Open Dolphin and observe as the automount gets triggered again even though
Dolphin is not currently viewing that mount point
OBSERVED RESULT
Automount points are triggered even though they shouldn't be.
EXPECTED RESULT
Automount points should be left alone (as they were in 6.22.1) until navigated
to.
