before/after display state
SUMMARY
I'm using Plasma Wayland with two DisplayPort monitors connected through a KVM
running in HDR (occurs regardless of adaptive sync settings). Switching inputs
causes a temporary disconnect (expected), however when switching back to my KDE
Plasma system, my HDR monitor on the right is black until I toggle HDR off and
on again in display configuration.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Switch KVM output to other system.
2. Switch KVM output back to KDE Plasma system (doesn't happen 100% of the time
but is common enough to reproduce easily if it doesn't happen on the first
attempt)
OBSERVED RESULT
One monitor appears black until HDR is manually toggle off and on again.
EXPECTED RESULT
Both monitors are reconnected properly and display an image.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Bazzite 43 Desktop Edition (Plasma, AMD)
(6.17.7-ba25.fc43.x86_64 (64-bit))
KDE Plasma Version: 6.6.1
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.23.0
Qt Version: 6.10.2
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Attached are logs during the KVM switch and before/after display state, showing
outputs temporarily disappearing (expected) and both DisplayPort monitors
reconnecting successfully, however right HDR monitor remains black.
The problem is not the disconnect itself. The disconnect/reconnect is expected
with the KVM. The bug is that after reconnect, one HDR DisplayPort monitor
remains black even though the system believes it has been restored
successfully.
My monitor models are: Acer XV275K P3 (Left, unaffected), Giga-Byte M27U
(Right, affected)
