SUMMARY
When I attempt to highlight some text using the mouse, two different unexpected
things happen.
1. Click to drag on first colum of a line that has multiple words.
Immediately upon moving the mouse the first word is highlighted. Ss you drag
the mouse to the right the highlight on that word goes away one character at
time until you reach the space. Then the highlight starts, including the
space, as you drag further right. When you release the mouse button, the
highlighted text remains and seems to work as expected, except that you haven't
highlight all of the text you intended.
Until you use ctrl-z to undo.
If you delete the highlighted text then hit ctrl-z the text is restored, but if
you hit ctrl-z again the first word is deleted. After then hitting ctrl-z
again and again the fistt word is deleted then restored, forever.
Note. it works the same way with the keyboard. Move the cursor to the begining
of a line, press the insert key and move the cursor to the right. It does the
same as with the mouse.
2. If the first characters are spaces or other special characters, like a
period, those charcters disappear immediatly as you start draging to highlight.
No matter how many times you hit ctrl-z you can can never get back to where you
started. You have to close the file without saving and reopen it. If you do
save it, those changes made by the bug get saved.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. click or user arrow keys to go to the begining of a line.
2. While holding the mouse button down, drag to the right
3. Note the immediately the first word get highlighted
4. Then as yu drag right and p;ass the space your as suddenly highlighting the
nex words.
5. Attempt to backout the changed made after the highlight drag replaces, never
get you back to the original file.
