            Bug ID: 518083
           Summary: Buttons (Save/Save as.../Copy/...) are off-screen in
multi-TFT setup when lower border is not the lowest of
                    all screens
    Classification: Applications
           Product: Spectacle
      Version First 6.3.5
       Reported In:
          Platform: Debian stable
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: General
          Assignee: [email protected]

  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

After doing a screenshot with a user-selected area, the interaction buttons are
not visible to the user as they are rendered outside of the visible area.

Please note that the title is abbreviated: the same issue arises with the top
border as well (see below).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. have a multi-TFT setup where at least one TFT that has a higher virtually
placed bottom line (e.g., horizontal + vertical TFT and the horizontal TFT has
same upper "line" as vertical TFT)
2. invoke Spectacle to make a screenshot on the TFT whose bottom is "higher"
3. select the screen area to screen shot so that its bottom is near the bottom
of the screen
4. Buttons (Save/Save as.../Copy/...) are rendered off-screen (below bottom of
current screen)

This can also be reproduced with a selection that is - at the same time - near
the upper border as well as the lower border of that TFT.

OBSERVED RESULT

User can't interact with Spectacle any more to decide on saving, copying to
clipboard, ...

EXPECTED RESULT

Buttons are rendered not outside of visible area.

Just like with a single TFT setup, the buttons should be rendered, e.g., above
the selection or within the selection such that the user is able to interact
with them.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Debian GNU Linux 13 stable
KDE Plasma Version: Plasma 6.3.6
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.13.0
Qt Version: 6.8.2
Spectacle: 6.3.5

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Same process executed on my vertical TFT (which has the highest virtual
coordinates as well as the lowest) did not show the wrong behavior: the buttons
were either placed at the top of the selection when the bottom was the issue or
even within the selection when the selection was near the top as well as the
bottom of the screen.

Therefore, I assume that the bug is related to a multi-TFT setup where at least
one TFT is not as "high" or "low" as another.
