SUMMARY
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install Nvidia drivers with open kernel modules. I am using driver version
580.119.02 on kernel version 6.18.19.
2. Start a Plasma 6 Wayland session as normal.
3. Open any window (something like a Kitty terminal window is fine).
4. Sleep/suspend the system.
5. Awake the system.
6.. Unlock the session lock.
OBSERVED RESULT
You are immediately presented with a Plasma crash log report window (which
fails to gather logs for sending automatically) and all windows are gone.
EXPECTED RESULT
No crash. Normal behaviour.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
macOS:
(available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window)
Linux/KDE Plasma: NixOS 25.11 with kernel 6.18.19
KDE Plasma Version: 6.5.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.20.0
Qt Version: 6.10.1
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- I am using two external monitors.
- My GPU is an RTX 3080 Ti.
- I also have an RX 7800XT, which did present any issues at all with suspending
nor hibernating. This behaviour began immediately when I swapped the cards.
