SUMMARY
In a very specific combination of settings when editing a Colorize Mask layer,
canvas graphics from other opened document tabs in Krita will show as a sort of
ghostly afterimage on the current canvas. The requirements are:
- You must have multiple Krita documents open in tabs
- GPU accelerated canvas enabled, either with DX11 or software mode. Switching
to OpenGL mode or disabling canvas acceleration fixes the issue.
- The current canvas must have a transparent background
- You have an active Colorize Mask tool layer, with coloring updated, and "Show
Coloring" off (the opaque or empty circle next to the layer name should be a
hollow circle.)
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create two new documents with transparent content. Draw whatever on document
A.
2. On document B, create a layer and draw a circle. The rest of the document
must be transparent.
3. Add a colorize mask layer to the layer with the circle. Add some color
strokes on this layer and render it (click the circular arrows next to the
layer name)
4. Click the filled circle next to the colorize mask layer name to turn off
"Show Coloring".
OBSERVED RESULT
Whatever you drew in the other document (document A) appears as a sort of
afterimage on the transparent canvas of document B
EXPECTED RESULT
No cross-contamination between documents
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: Windows 11 25H2
Krita Version: 6.0.0 RC3 (git 148ce5c)
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I am on a Surface Book 3 which has to rely on proprietary OEM drivers for its
graphics card so it is possible this is related to an outdated nVidia driver
somehow.
Does not repro on Krita v5.2.9 running on the same machine with the same
acceleration.
