Bug ID: 518171
Summary: Scrollwheel always uses high-precision mode instead of
scrolling by lines
Classification: Plasma
Product: kwin
Version First 6.6.3
Reported In:
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: major
Priority: NOR
Component: input
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
>From after the update to plasma 6.6.3, the scrollwheel of my logitech g502x is
behaving strangely, and it's in fact impossible to scroll precisely
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open firefox
2. Try to change zoom level to a specific value
OBSERVED RESULT
At first it seemed a problem of sensitivity, that was very low. After
increasing it, i found that, even having "notches" on my mouse, it was clearly
moving between one notch and the other. It never happened before.
This broke the widget to change virtual desktops (I use a plugin, not the
default one), as well as setting the zoom level on firefox.
EXPECTED RESULT
Both with solaar running or not, the scrollwheel would scroll one line at a
time everytime.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Fedora Linux 43
KDE Plasma Version: 6.6.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.24.0
Qt Version: 6.10.2
Kernel Version: 6.19.8-200.fc43.x86_64 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland
Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 w/ Radeon 860M
Memory: 32 GB of RAM (30,6 GB usable)
Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon 860M Graphics
Manufacturer: Framework
Product Name: Laptop 13 (AMD Ryzen AI 300 Series)
System Version: A7
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I also used the Solaar software to try to resolve it. When the program is
running, the sensitivity is lower, but it still uses high-precision mode
instead of scrolling by-line (this way, i need around two notches to scroll,
but it's not precise).
