Example of old text tool, new text tool screen grabs, system info screen grab,
and massive thanks for Krita

SUMMARY
Thanks for version 5.3 and the inline, 0n-page, text editing! Very cool!

But... The previous version with the text editor box that opened allowed me to
do all sorts of stuff...

-- changing the font or size or style of one word or one line of text without
changing the rest of the text
-- seeing a full font list dropdown
-- access all controls from the header bar of the editor box

Now, with the new version...

-- to change font size, I have to specifically choose the "Character" tab to
change words or lines on their own; the tool defaults to the "Paragraph" tab
-- in the "Character" tab view, I can't easily access the italics, bold,
underline, etcetera options; this means if I want to italicise a single word or
part of a sentence, I have to drive through various menus
-- the font list is reaaaaaaally difficult to use now; it's cramped up into the
tiny space of the column allocated to it by the dock-width of the docker it's
in
-- there seems to be no way to call up the "old" interface... the ONLY way to
edit seems to be to use the inline editing tool

REQUESTED BUGFIX:

To allow users to choose between the "old" interface and the new inline editing
tool.

This new version adds so many extra steps to editing text that it feels very
difficult to accomplish small things, and even more difficult to edit larger
amounts of text.

I've marked this as a major bug because it affects workflow very adversely for
me.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Zorin 17.3 Core

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Thanks for Krita, and for hearing me.
