Bug ID: 518232
Summary: Icon-only Task Manager fails to appear on secondary
virtual desktops after the system wakes from sleep or
hibernation when the panel is set to "Auto-hide" or
"Dodge Windows."
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version First 6.4.5
Reported In:
Platform: Kubuntu
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: critical
Priority: NOR
Component: Task Manager and Icons-Only Task Manager widgets
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
**If it do not produces, create multiple panels (more than 1, in my case it is
2 panel -> primary panel with icon only taskbar widget and the secondary top
panel with rest of my stuffs.**
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Set the Plasma Panel/Taskbar to "Auto-hide" or "Dodge Windows" visibility mode.
Create at least two virtual desktops and switch between them to confirm the
taskbar works normally.
Put the system into Sleep or Hibernate mode.
Wake the system and navigate to any virtual desktop other than the first one.
OBSERVED RESULT
The taskbar/panel is missing or does not unhide on virtual desktops 2 and
above. The issue does not occur if the system has not been suspended.
EXPECTED RESULT
The taskbar should consistently appear/unhide on all virtual desktops
regardless of power state transitions (Sleep/Hibernate).
SOFTWARE/OS VERSION
Operating System: Kubuntu 25.10
KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.17.0
Qt Version: 6.9.2
Wayland
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The taskbar appears to function correctly on the first virtual desktop, but the
session state for the panel seems to break for secondary desktops upon waking.
A temporary manual restart of plasmashell usually restores the panel.
