  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
After mid-March update keyboard slow, hangs, if I turn on "delay repeat"
settings keys auto-press ad infinitum (output looks like:
kkkkkkkkddddddddeeeeeeeeeeeee ...) Must press long and hard on keys to type.
Delay persists no matter what the delay options are.

NOT a login problem.
Keyboard loses functionality *only after* Plasma login.

As I am using GNOME Wayland as a fallback, it rules out a pure kernel/hardware
failure (the built-in keyboard works there). This points strongly toward a
Plasma/Wayland-specific regression in input handling, possibly related to
libinput, KWin, or virtual keyboard/input method changes in the March 2026
updates (around Plasma 6.6.x timeframe).

Virtual keyboards do not seem to work, or to either turn on/off.

This has also broken other features, such as windows no longer remembering
geometry settings. Many settings are "reset", such as my login animation
settings. I cannot navigate my machine on Plasma any longer so would not be
surprised if this has caused other systemic issues. (And due to the concurrent
NVIDIA phaseout affecting my OS updates, it is hard for a non-expert like me to
tell which is causing what.)

It is no exaggeration that this has fundamentally rendered useless Plasma-based
distros for users affected.

For the record, this update dropped around the same time:
