Video showing font size mismatch and inability to scale fonts in Character tab
with large selections.
SUMMARY
Changing font size in Character tab of Text Attributes behaves erratically.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
All steps performed with "sans-serif" font as used in default installation.
1. Create text block with multiple wrapped lines.
2. Set font size to 12 in Paragraph tab (usual default).
3. Select a block of text in the middle that spans multiple lines, with
unselected text before and after it.
4. Change to Character tab, and click "down" arrow repeatedly to reduce font
size of selected text.
OBSERVED RESULT
Depending on how much text is selected, it will only allow the text size to be
reduced a limited amount before jumping back up to the paragraph text size.
When it first jumps back up, the font size shown in the selection box will not
match the font size shown on screen. With one more click of the down arrow, the
text on screen will jump back up to the indicated size (11pt).
If shaded size bar is dragged down with the mouse to a small size (e.g. 4
points) the selector will jump back up to 12 points, even though the text
on-screen is displayed at 4 points.
EXPECTED RESULT
I should be able to resize any subset of text as desired. It should be possible
to make blocks of text within paragraphs smaller as well as larger. Text size
on the Text Properties should match size indicated in the selector. Behaviour
of tool should not change depending on how much text is selected.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 10
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This seems to be tied to line wrapping. If I stretch out the text box until the
text selection is not wrapped, I can scale it down freely. A smaller selection
of even a few words that DOES cross a wrapping boundary will exhibit the bug.
If selection includes start or end of text block, this bug does not happen,
even with a large selection size that is wrapped.
