            Bug ID: 518394
           Summary: Importing calendar as read-only
    Classification: Frameworks and Libraries
           Product: Akonadi
      Version First unspecified
       Reported In:
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
This is in response to the issue of calendar events being deleted, primarily
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419713. This is primarily seen on Google
calendar integration, but often for those cases we do not really want to make
write changes to the calendar, instead just have a read-only view and
notifications. At most the significant changes made would be attendance, but
having to do that in another app is worth trade-off for circumventing that bug.

OBSERVED RESULT
See the issues described https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419713 and the
linked issues. Basically event deletions are triggered from the local system
seemingly randomly. There is no seeming interface to import a calendar as
read-only.

EXPECTED RESULT
Have an interface to import calendars as read-only, after which restrict all
actions to GET-like interface only.
