The problem is that the audio level rendered by this audio feedback feature doesn't always match with the audio level rendered by whatever media the user is playing (due to lack of/mis-volume normalization), as a result it is often too loud to bear with in usage. IMHO with the current state of the implementation this feature should be opt-in instead of out, as the problem out-weighs the benefit.
