I'm the OP and the Screen capture from Adilson Urso (Comment 1) shows the
Filter and Status features which existed in 5.1.3 but are missing in 5.2.2.

These options were available in standard transaction entry mode and in 
reconcile mode and I, for one, found them extremely useful.

The Filter was extremely useful when searching for a possible similar
transaction which may have occurred some time ago so that I could duplicate it
or copy some of the details when entering a new transaction.

The Status filter, as I said, in my original post I used extensively when
reconciling
