            Bug ID: 519814
Summary: Flat view mode: display directory contents recursively
                    up to a configurable depth
    Classification: Applications
           Product: dolphin
      Version First unspecified
       Reported In:
          Platform: Arch Linux
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general

  Target Milestone: ---

A "Flat View" mode that shows all files under the current directory (and its
subdirectories) as if they were in a single directory, up to a user-specified
recursion depth.

Motivation: Sometimes navigating folder-by-folder is tedious, and you do not
necessarily want to move files. A flat view lets you quickly scan all files at
once without drilling into each subfolder manually.

A toggle-able view mode, accessible via the View menu (e.g., "Flat View") or a
toolbar button
Configurable max depth (1 = immediate children only, ∞ = fully recursive)

When two or more files share the same name, disambiguate by prepending their
relative parent path as a prefix (e.g., subfolderA/file.txt vs
subfolderB/file.txt) with perhaps a smaller and less opaque font.

This can be a single entry in the View menu or View Mode submenu, similar in
weight to the existing Icons/Compact/Details modes. It would add no clutter for
casual users and offers significant value for power users managing project
directories or media collections.

Other applications might offer this feature, but having it in Dolphin allows
for a more casual and visual experience with thumbnail previews.
