STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. `flatpak install --user --or-update
https://cdn.kde.org/flatpak/plasma-keyboard-nightly/org.kde.plasma.keyboard.flatpakref`
and enable the virtual keyboard
2. In Kate editor, hold down the `e` key and mouse click on the 8th symbol,
then the 7th, then the 7th, in quick succession
I get a crash, and the diacritics UI stays on the screen, following my text
cursor around from app to app, I can't get rid of it until I log out.
