ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
So this is an issue with the Bluetooth on a BRAND NEW
Fresh install.
THis is a HP Probook 640 G4 laptop that I am installing this on
It is running KDE Plasma 6.3.6 KDE Framework Version 6.13.0 QT version 6.8.2
Using Wayland. This is a FRESH brand NEW install.
Running Debian 13.4
uname -a
Linux security 6.12.85+deb13-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Debian 6.12.85-1
(2026-04-30) x86_64 GNU/Linux
The bluetooth is not working out of the box on a brand new FRESH install
I am looking in the logs and there is nothing showing up in /var/log/syslog and
/var/log/messages
either.
The Bluetooth won;t connect to multiple different bluetooth devices it seems
like it wont connect
to any devices. I have tried TWO different bluetooth devices here I have a
bluetooth speaker
and it won't connect to it and i have a set of bluetooth earbuds well here and
it won't connect
to them either! you try and scan for new devices and the devices are not
showing up.
no devices are showing up.
This is a fresh install and the bluetooth isn't even working. I am about sick
of KDE Plasma at this
point I am not new to debian been running it on various machines for years and
years probably over 25 years.
YOu click on the bluetooth icon down in the system tray in the bottom right
corner and
then you click on pair on device and the screen is empty no bluetooth devices
ever show up in there on
a fresh brand new install.
And yes I have the firmware-intel-misc and firmware-iwlwifi installed
Still nothing I can't connect to any bluetooth devices

The devices are not blocked either if I do an rfkill it shows that they
are not blocked

You can see hcl0 it isn't soft or hard blocked at all
I mean there is nothing in /var/log/messages either and no error messages so
don't ask me
for them because nothing is showing up in my log files!!
FYI I am a trained network admin myself.
